Did Jesus have any brothers or sisters?
Blake, age 7
If so, what were their names? Do you think that they ever had a fight, like me and my brother?
Jesus did not have brothers and sisters. The Bible tells us that Jesus did experience the same feelings we have though. He felt sadness, anger, and happiness. Yet Jesus did not let his feelings make him do anything bad. Instead, Jesus tried to resolve all life's problems with forgiveness, kindness, and love. While we can't be perfect like Jesus, especially when it comes to dealing with our brothers, Jesus asks us to love one another even when we're angry with others.

I want to know if it is better to worship God at Church or is it the same if you worship God at home?
Cassie, age 12
Cassie, we can worship God everywhere and in everything we do-at home, having fun with our friends, attending school, or in church. Worshiping God in church, however, is very special. In church God is present in a very wonderful and special way through the Eucharist. The Eucharist provides us with the opportunity to encounter the true, risen presence of Jesus. We also come together to worship God as a family in the Church and, like any father, God rejoices when His family is all together loving Him.

Is God a boy or a girl?
Barry, age 6
I bet lots of kids have wondered about this, Barry. The answer is God is neither a boy nor a girl. God is a spirit. You may think that God is male because sometimes God is called Father. Calling God "Father" is a way of understanding God. This name says that God loves and cares for you the way a loving father does for his child.

I lied to my Mom. Is it true that God still loves me?
Lee, age 7
I'm glad you asked this question, Lee. I want you to know that God always loves you. Always! God wants you to share this love. So when you do something wrong, there are a few things you need to do. Tell your Mom you're sorry and tell her why you are sorry. Say that you will try to be better and really mean it. Then do something to show you are sorry, like giving her a nice hug. Moms like that!
Be sure to tell God you are sorry, too. If you receive the sacrament of Penance, you can tell God you are sorry in confession.

I see drawings of angels everywhere. Do they really exist?
Heidi, age 9
Oh yes, Heidi, angels do exist. God sends angels to help, to guard, and to share God's message. We usually can't see angels because they are spirits. But as we know from the Bible, angels can take on human form. An angel came to Mary and told her she would be the Mother of God. We don't know what angels look like. Artists like to draw angels with wings. That's their way of helping people understand that angels are God's messengers who can move very quickly.

Why do we go to Mass on Sundays?
Pat, age 9
Pat, in the story of creation, God blessed a special day of rest and made it holy. In the third commandment, God asks us to do the same. This special day is Sunday because that's the day Jesus rose from the dead. Catholics keep Sunday, the Lord's Day, holy. This means that we gather in church with other Catholics to worship God. Then we spend the rest of the day in ways that makes Sunday different from other days. What are some ways you and your family enjoy Sundays?

Why do Catholics go to Mass?
Alicia, age 8
People like to be with others especially when they have something in common. They like to share what it is that makes them the same. Can you imagine celebrating your team's championship win by yourself? Or being the only one at a school? Catholics are happy sharing their love for God. They want to get together with other Catholics and praise God, ask for forgiveness, and receive Jesus in Communion.
