Service Activities for Families: Kindergarten

Your kindergarten child is learning many new things about God. The children will learn that God made them, that he loves them, and that they are special. They will also learn that it is important to pass on God's love to others.

These family activities will help you and your child live out the message of God's love.

1. September 12 is Grandparent Day. Help your child make a card by gathering autumn leaves, arranging and gluing them on colored construction paper. Help your child write a brief note on the card and then give the card to his or her grandparents or an elderly neighbor.
2. Halloween is a time for tricks and treats. Help your child make a special treat for family and friends. Make a hugs and kisses coupon by cutting out paper pumpkins, then filling in the sentence, I will give you_______hugs and kisses for Halloween. Have the child print his or her name, decorate with Halloween stickers, and then deliver on Halloween.
